EMC On-Site Testing

A simple, cost effective solution for complex EMC
Testing of industrial equipment.

For machines, control cabinets and process systems that cannot be tested in a calibrated test facility for reasons including physical size, where connection to external supplies such as gas, steam, water etc is required to enable the equipment to function correctly or simply the high costs involved, TPW Engineering are able to offer a service where we come to you and carry out the testing.

Offering an on-site testing service reduces both time and costs involved in a project. It keeps everything in-house so if any corrective work is needed it can be easily re-tested plus it can be setup to run in “true” conditions with connected services or in simulated operation in the case of conveyor or process systems with the control systems running with the drives, valves and sensors connected locally.

TPW Engineering have been working alongside some major customers and suppliers on new projects as well as R&D work and refurbishment workshops for many years, often from early design stages to ensure compliance to standards and ultimately CE marking. We are fully conversant with latest standards and are able to determine compliance or indicated compliance with the standards EN61000-6-2:2005, EN61000-6-4:2007

Specialising solely in industrial process and packaging equipment for over 25 years, our extensive experience means we are used to working around large and often complex equipment and systems. Recent projects include a specially adapted filling machine with external cap applicators and sterilisation plants all integrated together, an automated conveyor system with elevators, de-elevators, stackers and de-stackers with bar-code feedback, process valve control systems, fluorine generation plants and even a new concept fully containerised fluorine gas generation plant with all control, process and storage systems integrated and operating inside a 40ft shipping container.

Tests that can be carried out on-site include:

Conducted and Radiated Emissions to EN55011:2007
Electrostatic Discharge Immunity to EN61000-4-2:2009
Radiated RF Fields to EN61000-4-3:2006 (where practical)
EFT/Bursts Immunity to EN61000-4-4:2004
Surge Immunity to EN61000-4-5:2006
Conducted Immunity to EN61000-4-6:2009
Magnetic Field Immunity to EN61000-4-8:1994
Supply Interruption and voltage dips (<16A) to EN61000-4-11:2004
Mains Harmonics Testing (<16A) to EN61000-3-2:2006
Mains Flicker testing (<16A) to EN61000-3-3:2008
Mains Flicker testing (<75A) to EN61000-3-11:2001
